I’m all for businesses wanting honest feedback. However, I received an email from them that raised some eyebrows:

"I’ll gladly add 50 extra monthly credits for your first review until 2022 as a thank you. For each subsequent review, I’ll give you 25 more credits. Just send me a screenshot of your comment before you share it."

The request to share my comment prior to posting really caught me off guard. It made me feel uneasy, especially since I was in the process of getting a refund right after I put up this review.

To me, it felt quite unethical. It’s a shame because I had been trying out the service and was enjoying the heat maps so far. But ethics matter a lot to me when it comes to a company’s practices. Asking for my review in advance before I share it on public platforms just didn’t sit right.

The company got back to me about my review, suggesting I might have misinterpreted their request, which is possible. I could have misunderstood their communication as wanting to approve my review before I posted it. That’s fair enough. I’m keeping the original review but updating my rating to 4 stars, since my issue was more about the email than the actual product. It feels a bit unfair to rate them poorly based on their email alone. I appreciated their mature response.
